Our Story

Lisa and Steven smiling together

Chapter One

Where It All Started

Some people spend years looking. Steven and Lisa didn't have to look for long. From the very first conversation, there was something easy and certain about it — the kind of feeling you don't overthink, you just follow.

What started as a chance began to feel, very quickly, like it was always supposed to happen this way.

Chapter Two

The DM That Changed Everything

It was one message. Just one. Steven saw Lisa and thought, what's the worst that could happen? She replied. Then she replied again.

Before long, a conversation that started online had moved to a candlelit dinner, then to long walks, then to every day feeling a little quieter and better simply because the other person was in it.

Chapter Three

Two Dogs and a Lifetime to Go

They built things slowly and carefully — a shared home, a shared rhythm, two very opinionated dogs, and a life that just kept getting better the more they added to it.

By the time the question wasn't whether this was forever, it was just a matter of making it official.

And Then He Proposed

Getting Here

Travel

Getting In

Flying In

We recommend flying into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), located about 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Austin.

Getting Around

Transportation

Rideshares like Uber and Lyft are widely available throughout Austin and are the easiest way to get around the city.

Rental cars are a good option if you plan to explore areas further outside the city, including the drive out to Dripping Springs.

Wedding Day Shuttle

Shuttle buses depart from the South Congress Hotel at 3:00 PM on November 1 and go directly to Prospect House. See the Schedule section for full details.

Where to Stay

Accommodations

We recommend staying in one of these two neighborhoods:

Downtown Austin

Walkable, lively, and close to restaurants and nightlife. A great base for exploring the city before and after the wedding.

South Congress

Trendy neighborhood with great shopping, food, and some of Austin's most iconic spots. The Saturday welcome party is nearby.

We are arranging hotel room blocks and will share booking details here as soon as they are confirmed.

Our Registry

Red Envelopes

In keeping with Asian tradition, we will be receiving monetary gifts in red envelopes at the reception rather than maintaining a registry.

Red envelopes, known as hong bao, lai see, or li xi depending on the culture, are a meaningful way to share blessings and good fortune with newlyweds. Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift, but if you would like to contribute toward our future together, we are deeply grateful.

There will be a designated table at the reception where you can leave your envelope. No need to bring anything ahead of time.

Thank you for being part of our story.
